Many times as a middle-aged man, I have trouble associating myself with female characters in a book, but I had no such trouble in this well-told book. The main character, Irene is not a perfect person. There are times that I wanted to scream at her not to do what she was going to do. But, overall Irene is a real-to-life, likable character with a good heart. As she stumbles the phase of life known as adulthood, she does make mistakes, but in the end, comes out with a commendable life that she has made for herself. She is an easy to like character that I found myself caring about by the end of the book.I also appreciate the fact that this book doesn’t skirt life issues, but faces them head on. A past physically abusive relationship, lesbian friends in their own borderline abusive relationship, infidelity in a relationship, pregnancy, workplace romance; it covers the gamut, all told in the easy to read and humorous manner of Ms. Goldston.

The Adulthood The Life & Times Series by Lori Goldson Book is an excellent intellectual book. It has 18 chapters like Labor Day weekending, The Hunt, Another Manic Monday, Fight Club and etc.
Ms. Lori Goldson has done an excellent job in tackling the changeover from college to adulthood. This book is good for adults going in to college.
Excellent read! Lori does a great job in addressing the transition from college to early adulthood. For most, college is a time of blissful ignorance. That's not to say there aren't trials and tribulations during college but there is something about college that keeps you tethered to your youth. And then you enter the "real world."
Lori's detailed writing makes her an excellent story teller. The Adulthood is truthful and relatable. This book is perfect for young adults entering/in college, for those who've just entered "adulthood," and for those of us who have been through it.
Another great book from Ms. Goldson! The author delivered a sequel that picks up right where Book 1 left off; with the series' main character facing new challenges as she enters the real world as an adult. Having just graduated college and now fully in charge of her own destiny (and therefore, responsible for her own failures) Irene must cope with the twists and turns that life inevitably takes us all on, learning by making mistakes, and appreciating the small successes. Book 2 allows us to get a deeper understanding of the characters in Irene's life and once again leaves us yearning to know what comes next. It is an easy and uplifting read, relatable, and leaves the reader with an overall sense that "this too shall pass" and "everything will be OK". I highly recommend this book and look forward to the next installment of The Life & Times Series.
